(Sorry, we do not do Legal Aid)
Going through a legal process can be a worrying and draining time for all both financially and emotionally. With Divorce, Civil Partnership, or Judicial Separation, whether you are just starting to think about it, or have started or nearing the end, we are happy to help you through the process and support and advise you at every stage.

With the Civil Partnership Act 2004 and the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013 both opposite-sex couples and same-sex couples who have gone through a registered civil partnership ceremony now have the same rights and responsibilities as married couples. The process of dissolving the partnership is very similar to the divorce process.
We are happy to discuss the process with you and please see our Divorce and Financial Arrangements sections for further information.
Whether you are Married, or in a Civil Partnership or in a Living Together relationship you will go through the various elements of Separation. If you are not sure about what your next step might be we can help you unravel your situation and explore your options to assist you in making informed decisions on what you might want to do next.

Whether you are Divorcing from a Marriage, Dissolving a Civil Partnership or Separating from a Living Together relationship there may be financial aspects that need to be considered. Within Divorce and Civil Partnerships you need to have a Financial Court Order to protect you from future claims from your ex-partner and without an Order you have the risk of the other party always being able to make a claim against you in the future.
We can help you find the best way forward in reaching a financial settlement with your ex-partner and preferably without the need for costly Court proceedings, which we would hope to avoid wherever possible.
Children issues can arise out of all sorts of circumstances and situations. We will discuss your individual situation with you sensitively and help you in deciding how to manage or make any decisions on any aspect of child arrangements

When a child’s parents separate, grandparents or other relatives can often feel removed from the child’s life even when they have played or play a big part in their lives. This can leave a feeling of being helpless and unsure of what rights they may have which may be limited although we hope this is a changing landscape and the relationships within extended families can be considered in the welfare of a child.
We are happy to listen to your worries or concerns and discuss any options that might be available to you.
Being in a relationship with someone you care for who perhaps isn’t behaving in a way you think is right can feel very lonely. We will listen to you in confidence and provide you with guidance and realistic options to help you move forward.

A Prenuptial Agreement is a contract entered into by two people who are intending to get married, or Postnuptial if already married. This document intends to show how wealth and assets are owned by both parties now and what the intention is for them in the unfortunate event of the marriage breaking down at a later stage and ending divorce.
You do not have to follow a legal process to start using a new name. But you might need a ‘deed poll’ to apply for or to change official documents like your passport or driving licence. There are various reasons why you might want to change yours or a child’s name. We will be happy to take you through the process to change your name by Deed Poll.
